Annual Tank Cleaning Plans

Basic Plan: (Call for pricing)

With the purchase of our Basic Plan, you will receive 1 initial visit to locate the storage tank(s) and take a sample of the water in the storage tank(s) to determine what chemical will work best in the application. You will receive a second visit approximately a week later *depending on the amount of storage you have and your water usage* to perform the tank cleaning. The technician will shut your well down on the initial visit so you will only be running off your storage tank as to not waste water. When the storage tank(s) nears empty, the tank cleaning specialist will come back out to clean and sanitize your water storage tank(s). Once your tank(s) is cleaned and sanitized the technician will power the well back on, fill the tank, and test the system.

What is the best disinfectant for a water storage tank?

The most common way of disinfecting a water storage tank is chlorination. chlorine is delivered in a variety of ways but the most common is high-strength calcium hypochlorite(HSCH), when mixed with water, liberates 60 to 80% of its volume as chlorine.

What happens if the water storage tank is not cleaned?

Contaminated water can lead to illness such as diarrhea, cholera, typhoid, and lead poisoning. The simple act of cleaning your water storage tank may assist in protecting your family from such water-borne diseases.

In a clean container about half full of water, put 1 to 1 1/2 fluid ounces (2-3 tablespoons) of a standard and unscented non-detergent household chlorine bleach (5.25% concentration) for every 500 gallons of water to be treated. Pour the bleach solution directly in the storage tank.
